College football fans come join us for the National semi-final game with kickoff at 5:00 pm.  Michigan is favored so Michiganders show up and cheer on your team.  Bring your drinks and snacks if you like.  As last year this will precede the New Years Eve Party.

 

There will be a contest where each entry is $5 and you guess the total points of final score without going over.  You win 50% of the pot with 50% going to activities fund. There will be a signup where you choose your score in the clubhouse starting Dec. 26th at noon.  You do not have to be at the game to participate.  You can buy as many numbers as you want at $5 each.  You can signup until kickoff.

BUDGET COMMITTEE MEETING OF NATURE COAST LANDINGS RESORT ASSOCIATION, INC.
 

The Landscape and Park Beautification team is a hands-on group of residents who are interested in helping the park look better.  We take on projects which require a variety of skills from brainstorming to design to organizing to weeding and handling a rake or shovel.  No experience required . . . (although we could use some guidance from any landscape designers or architects out there ! ). 

 

The agenda includes reviewing our current status and developing a game plan for:

   1.   Status - growth/frost, mulch refreshed, schedule cutting ornamental grass, breaking up fast growers

   2.   Replacing distressed or missing plants in the silverthorn hedge on the north side of the front entrance

   3.   Refreshing the front entrance sign using donated funds as approved by owners in March '23

   4.   Working with management to develop maintenance checklists

   5.   Short Term: Reviewing existing landscape of park property and flagging areas for improvement such as area around pool, entrance boulevard, area around the pavillion

   6.   Long Term: Work on a longer term vision for the park - use of common areas,  turf vs stone, lighting, additional facilities, what does a "Resort" mean ??

Come join us for a riveting game of girls against the guys every Sunday at 1:00.  No experience is necessary except the ability to harass the opposite gender.  If you have never played you will see there is no talent involved in this game.  See you there!

Please come out and join us . . . If you've been out to the Front Entrance in the past few days, you may have seen plants waiting to be planted. We are replacing some of long dead shrubs and adding some color. Based on the weather and available volunteers, we're going to break this project into smaller chunks.      1.  The front sign: we have silver palmettos to place in front of the sign poles, add muhly grasses, flax lilly and blanket flowers      2.  The median strip:  removing some of the grasses and wind blown Ti plants, adding ginger, crotons, flax lily and blanket flowers      3.  The Sylvester palm island between the gates:  installing a new memorial dwarf crepe myrtle, a Black Diamond Red Hot, adding fakahatchee grasses, the lillies and blanket flowers      4.  Silverthorns on the north side of the exit - the long dead ones will be replaced by new ones which will fill in the holes in the shrubs      5.  Wood chips: we have a pile of fresh wood chips which need to be spread under the south silverthorns to aid in water retention.

A meeting of the Annual Owners Meeting Volunteer Committee will be held on Thursday, January 25, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. in Friendship Hall. The purpose of this meeting is to review and finalize the agenda items submitted, and review the procedures for the March 2, 2024 Annual Owners Meeting. We'll also prepare for the January 28, 2024 Meet the Candidates and Town Hall. See calendar for details.

Bring a drink and a chair and come join the fun. 

A long time tradition here at NCL.  Bring a drink of choice and an appetizer to CH and mingle with your NCL neighbors.  Get to know the new folks in the park.  

Corn hole is at 2 and TT starts about 4ish.  Pending weather people will meet either in the CH or behind Friendship Hall.  Just follow the laughter. 

Come to the clubhouse on Tuesday and Thursday's to try your hand at Texas Holdem'. It is a 5.00 buy in and starts promptly at 7:00. Pump up those tires and join us as your schedule allows as we bike out to the gulf and back.  

This is a fun and easy way to meet new people in the park and get some exercise as we chat.

This is rarely competitive, (haha); if you haven't biked in a while, go as far as you're comfortable and turn around.  We start together and spread out as we go.  Bring water, snacks and bug spray if you need to as it's often buggy at the gulf. 

This is designed to be a self managed group which requires no leader. 

 

Leave at 9:30 and return to the park whenever.

 

Later in the season, there are often bike trips scheduled to other interesting Florida locations with food and drink at the end of the day before we return to NCL.  Consider this as the training for the more challenging fun outings.

Please plan to join us on Sunday, January 28, 2024, in Friendship Hall for the Town Hall ONLY for the review of  agenda items that will be voted on for the upcoming 2024 Annual Owners Meeting. This is an opportunity to better understand the agenda items and ask questions prior to the vote, which will be launched on February 9th. Deadline to submit agenda items is January 22, 2024.

 

Please Note: The decision as to whether there will be a separate event for Meet The Candidates and, if so, the date/time will be determined after the January 22nd deadline for submission of the Intent to be Candidate form. Watch your email on January 23rd.

Come join us for a riveting game of girls against the guys every Sunday at 1:00.  No experience is necessary except the ability to harass the opposite gender.  If you have never played you will see there is no talent involved in this game.  See you there!

Join us at Friendship Hall starting at 5:30 p.m. to watch the Detroit Loins vs San Francisco 49ers in the Conference Championship. This is something to celebrate for Loins Fans because it's the first time the Lions have made it to this championship game in 32 years!! Whether you're a Lions or 49ers fan...come cheer on your team. Game starts at 6:30. Please being a snack to share and your own drinks.

The Retired Old Men Eating Out will meet at the Biscuit Barn across from Turkey Oak Dr. on Wednesday mornings at 8am for breakfast and discussion on how to solve the world's problems .

The majority of the R.O.M.E.O.s are still from the basket of deplorables but if you can take the heat your welcome to sit by the kitchen.

We have hot dogs/tacos and deserts left over and we will be offering them at 12pm before Street Golf until they are gone for a $5 donation.

The Landscape and Park Beautification team is a hands-on group of residents who are interested in helping the park look better.  We take on projects which require a variety of skills from brainstorming to design to organizing to weeding and handling a rake or shovel.  No experience required . . . (although we could use some guidance from any landscape designers or architects out there ! ). 

 

The agenda includes reviewing our current status and developing a game plan for:

   1.   Status - growth/frost, mulch refreshed, schedule cutting ornamental grass, breaking up fast growers

   2.   Replacing distressed or missing plants in the silver thorn hedge on the north side of the front entrance

   3.   Refreshing the front entrance sign using donated funds as approved by owners in March '23

   4.   Working with management to develop maintenance checklists

   5.   Short Term: Reviewing existing landscape of park property and flagging areas for improvement such as area around pool, entrance boulevard, area around the pavilion

   6.   Long Term: Work on a longer term vision for the park - use of common areas,  turf vs stone, lighting, additional facilities, what does a "Resort" mean ??
