9 am till 11 am. Sleep late after a night of partying and join us anytime between 9 and 11. Menu will be an egg cheese sausage casserole with hash brown potatoes, french toast casserole, sausage gravy and biscuit, and more. Coffee and juice will be available. Hosted by Pure Elements Yoga and Wellness Studio, this is a family friendly event, fun for all ages, that encourages dance, peace, and celebrating the nature around us. Some benefits of drum circling are reduced stress & anxiety, increased immune system function and fighting depression.
You can bring an instrument but extra are provided. There is plenty of space to dance and have fun or feel free to just be a spectator and listen to the soothing sounds as the sun sets on the gulf horizon.

The Let's Talk Fishing group meets at 5:30 pm each Monday from January 17 through April 1. Participants discuss fishing tips, tackle and techniques for fishing local lakes, the Barge Canal and the Gulf of Mexico. Meetings are held in the NCL Clubhouse and typically last one hour. This is a great way to meet other resident anglers, share fishing experiences and learn from others who are fishing the same waters.

The Let's Talk Fishing group meets at 5:30 pm each Monday from January 17 through April 1. Participants discuss fishing tips, tackle and techniques for fishing local lakes, the Barge Canal and the Gulf of Mexico. Meetings are held in the NCL Clubhouse and typically last one hour. This is a great way to meet other resident anglers, share fishing experiences and learn from others who are fishing the same waters.
Card Bingo

Quilting

come join us and bring your quilting/sewing projects. Also we will be teaching quilt projects if you are interested. First project being taught is a wool applique piece that will include everything you need to complete this project. Acoustic Music Jam

2nd Annual Reaction Time Nationals

OK boys & girls, Time for the 2nd Annual NCL Reaction Time Nationals! Those that have frequented a drag strip (or attended last year)probably know what a reaction time is. Those who haven't, here is a brief description. In a drag race of two competitors, the elapsed time in each lane starts when the front tire trips a timing beam (not when the green light comes on). It is therefore possible for a slower car to beat a faster car if he has a better reaction to the green light (leave before the green and get eliminated with a red light).
We are going to simulate this competition with a desktop device (christmas tree) that measures your reaction time and determines the quicker of two matched competitors. You will be paired initially by a draw, and the winner of the round advances to the next round. After round two (more about this later), a ladder will be made that determines the pairings until a winner & runner-up are determined.
We will be using the 'Pro Tree' this year. Here, three yellow lights come on together with the green light lighting .400 second later. You will release the thumb held timing button as soon as you see the green light. Rollout would be set at .240 seconds, typical of a pro car. This start system will make red lighting very hard.
But wait, there is money involved. Entry will cost $1.00. First round losers can buy back in for $1.00 (reason for drawing second round pairings. After you lose, you are done). The winner will get 60% of the pot, runner up will get 40%.
Racing will start 4:00 pm. I will have the Porta-Tree set up in Friendship Hall at 3:00 pm if you want to come up to practice. I will be managing the competition and will not be competing (maybe race the winner for fun).
I hear 2018 champion Ray Sherwood will be present to defend his title!
Movie Night
